These terms are the agreement between you and RCCG Chapel of Resurrection (“the church”, “we”, “us”) for the RCCG Chapel of Resurrection mobile app (“the app”). By creating an account or posting anything in the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

1. Who may use the app

The app is for members, friends and guests of the parish. It is intended for people aged 13 and over. You are responsible for anything posted from your account, so keep your password to yourself.

2. Your account

Create your account with your own name and your own email address. You may delete your account at any time from the profile screen; that removes your profile, your group memberships and the prayer requests you posted. Anonymous posts carry no link to you at all, which also means they cannot be found and removed with your account.

3. What you can post

The app carries user content in one place: prayer requests and testimonies, either on the public prayer wall or privately to the pastoral team. Post about your own life and your own needs.

4. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users in this app.

You agree not to post, and not to use the app to send, anything that:

• is abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, obscene or sexually explicit;
• attacks or demeans a person or a group, including on grounds of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;
• names, shames, accuses or exposes another person, or shares somebody else’s private affairs, medical details or contact details without their consent;
• is violent, or encourages self-harm, violence or any illegal act;
• is a scam, a solicitation, an advertisement, a chain message or other spam;
• infringes anybody’s copyright or other rights;
• impersonates another person, including a member of the parish leadership.

How we keep this

1. A leader reads every wall post before anyone else can see it. Nothing reaches the prayer wall unapproved, so a post that breaks these terms should never appear in the first place.
2. Tell us about anything that should not be there. Any signed-in member can report a post on the wall, and the report sends it straight back to the parish leaders for a fresh look. An account we have put on hold (paragraph 3) cannot report, in the same way it cannot post.
3. We take down what breaks these terms, and we can put an account on hold. A hold stops that account posting a request, reporting a post or joining a group, and the church can also delete the account outright. It covers the one account, so it cannot stop somebody registering a new one. We aim to act on any reported content, and to remove the offending content and the user who posted it where appropriate, within 24 hours.
4. One limit we would rather say plainly. A post made anonymously carries no link to its author, in the app or in our records, which is what makes it anonymous. There is nobody for us to put on hold, and the same person can post again. What covers an anonymous post is that a leader reads it before it reaches the wall, and that it can be reported like any other post: by any signed-in member whose account is not on hold (paragraph 2). Reading the wall does not need an account, but reporting does. If it keeps happening, it is a matter for the parish leadership rather than a setting in the app.
5. Decisions are made by the parish leadership. If you believe we got one wrong, write to info@rccgcor.org and we will look again.

We do not have to give notice before removing content or an account under this section.

5. Private requests to the pastoral team

A request marked private is not published anywhere in the app and is read only by the pastoral team. It is pastoral care, not a professional counselling, medical, legal or emergency service. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact the emergency services in your country.

6. Your content, and what we may do with it

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give the church permission to store your post and to display it inside the app to the people the visibility setting you chose allows: the congregation, for a wall post, or the pastoral team, for a private request. We do not sell your content and we do not use it for advertising. Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Giving

Giving links in the app open Zelle and EasyTithe outside the app. Those payments are handled by those providers under their own terms; the app itself takes no payment and stores no card details.

8. Availability

The app is provided as it is. We try to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error free, and content such as service times can change. To the extent the law allows, the church is not liable for loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app and the effective date above updated. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
